Assemblyman Jim Conte (R,I,C,WF-Huntington Station) recently attended the Marcie Mazzola Foundation award ceremony and presented Todd and Lisa Jamison with an official Assembly Citation in recognition of their receiving this year’s Marcie Mazzola Children’s Advocate of the Year Award. Todd and Lisa received the award in recognition of their extensive work in helping to improve the lives of children throughout the community, including their service to the Family Service League and with Huntington High School.
Assemblyman Conte noted that the Marcie Mazzola Foundation was founded to help better the lives of abused and at-risk children and to build community awareness regarding the needs of children. The foundation is named after Marcie Mazzola, who was sexually abused by a school bus driver and who died tragically in an automobile accident. Marcie was only 21 years old at the time of her death.
