Assemblyman Jim Conte Endorses Herb Morrow

Dear Friends,

It is with great pleasure and sincere gratitude that I announce the endorsement of Jim Conte, Assemblyman 10th Assembly District. Below is the context of Assemblyman Conte’s endorsement.

I have worked alongside Herb in his current position as Mayor of Huntington Bay.  His leadership in Huntington Bay has demonstrated his strength at keeping taxes low and spending under control.  He possesses the kind of common-sense approach which is needed in Town Hall.  He will stand up for what is right with the kind of integrity which will set an example for the restoration of faith in local government.

I look forward to working with Herb Morrow and I am proud to endorse him for Huntington Town Council.

 James D. Conte
Assemblyman
10th Assembly District

As I continue my election efforts, I am humbled by the outpouring of support I am receiving from every level.  Thank you all and thank you Assemblyman Conte for your continued dedication and service to the citizens of Huntington and the 10th Assembly District.

LIPA HEARING REPORT – FROM SEN. CARL MARCELLINO

Dear Neighbor:
As Chairman of the Senate Committee on Investigations and Government Operations I convened a public hearing on September 22 to look at the strategies and policies that manage Long Island Power Authority’s (LIPA) storm preparation and restoration efforts.
LIPA and National Grid need to seriously review all of their operating procedures to ensure the appropriate systems and plans are in place to restore electricity so that future storms do not cripple Long Island for a longer period of time than is necessary.
Tropical Storm Irene knocked out power to 48% or 523,000 of LIPA’s 1.2 million customers. The systems that LIPA and National Grid instituted to restore power were overwhelmed by this level of destruction. What happens when a Category 1 Hurricane hits Long Island?   We must be prepared for larger storms with increased outages and more catastrophic damage.
The report on the hearing which includes testimony and recommendations can be readclicking here or by visiting my website
Sincerely,
Senator Carl L. Marcellino
